Imagine an article on Nelson Mandela, without an image of what he looks like. Imagine a great article on Michelle Obama, without a glimpse of what she looks like in person. These are even famous people. Now imagine what it’s like for the historically marginalized, economically or politically disadvantaged, whose leaders have been made intentionally invisible by not having visual images of their faces produced or created.
For the episode 8 of Wiki Africa Hour: Revealing invisible faces, Ceslause Ogbonnaya engaged some special guests who are doing creative projects aimed towards putting a face to the faceless people on Wikipedia. Guests include:
- Sherry Antoine from AfroCROWD, as she talked about Wiki Unseen project, and
- Alacoolwiki from Les Sans PagEs, as he talked about the Drawtober project
