Ashioma Medi is a trained Organic Chemist and a Network Infrastructure Engineer. He joined the Wikimedia movement in 2015 and has made significant contributions to the English Wikipedia, Commons, and Wikidata. He has worked as a Grants Officer for the Wikimedia User Group Nigeria since 2022.

In his role at the Wikimedia User Group Nigeria, he manages grant programs that fund individuals, registered networks & fan clubs, and organizations working to expand access to knowledge and improve Wikimedia projects. He provides strategic guidance, supports grantees throughout their project lifecycles, and helps ensure that funding aligns with the missions of the Wikimedia Foundation and Movement Strategy.

As a longtime Wikimedian, he actively contributes to various Wikimedia projects and participates in movement discussions focused on inclusion, sustainability, and governance. His work bridges the worlds of grantmaking and community engagement, reflecting a passion for enabling people everywhere to share in the sum of all knowledge.
